Mr. James Raby chose Christian Care of Unicoi County following a recent hospitalization resulting in a change in status resulting in an increase in burden of care. Upon admission, he required limited assistance with mobility, walking, and with activities of daily living, impacting his ability to return home.
Mr. Raby was a fantastic therapy patient. He participated in Physical and Occupational Therapy with the determination to return home. In just sixteen days he was able to return home with increased independence and mobility! He reports, “therapy motivated me to get up and get out of the room every day. I enjoyed it. Thank you all!"

Mr. Edwards was a wonderful therapy patient. He participated in Physical and Occupational Therapy with the determination to return home. In just seventeen days, he was able to return home with increased independence and mobility! He reports, “therapy was great. They helped me build up my endurance and strength to help me return home. They challenged me in just the right way. Thank you!"

Christian Care Center of Unicoi had two employees receive $2,500 checks from the Tennessee Healthcare Association Disaster Relief Fund.
The first photo is Becky Greenwell, LPN and the 2nd photo is Amy Keever, Housekeeper. They were extremely grateful to THCA and the Facility for submitting their applications for relief.

Ms. Lavoughn Harris chose Christian Care of Unicoi County following a recent hospitalization resulting in a decline in function and an increase in burden of care. Upon admission, she required limited assistance with mobility, walking, and with activities of daily living, impacting her ability to return home.
Ms. Harris was a fantastic therapy patient. She participated in Physical and Occupational Therapy with the determination to return home. In just fourteen days, she was able to return home with increased independence and mobility! She reports, “the girls in therapy are great! They helped me tremendously. I highly recommend them. Super and funny!"

The 2024 Commitment to Caring Award Recipient is Amy Keever, Environmental Services.
Christian Care Center of Unicoi County was asked to nominate employees that continually demonstrate a “Commitment to Caring”. These employees were nominated based upon the criteria of:
- Relating well to residents, families, visitors, staff, and supervisors; respecting resident’s rights;
- Consistently performing beyond basic job requirements; promoting safety in the workplace;
- Striving to maintain personal and professional growth through in-services or external educational opportunities;
- Maintaining a positive “can-do” attitude;
- Having dependable attendance; participating in company sponsored events;
- Participating as a team player;
- And overall continually demonstrating the “Commitment to Caring” philosophy.
Amy has worked at Christian Care Center of Unicoi County for 2 years and in healthcare 20 years.
She continually shows a “Commitment to Caring” by thinking of herself more than a Housekeeper to the Residents and she loves helping them anyway she can.
She stated that her motivation are the Residents themselves.
Amy shared that she likes working at Christian Care Center of Unicoi County because the employees and Residents are amazing.

Upon admission, he required limited assistance with generalized mobility, walking, and with activities of daily living, impacting his ability to return home.
Mr. Lloyd was an amazing therapy patient. He participated in Physical and Occupational Therapy with a strong drive to return home. In just twenty-two short days, he was able to return home independently. He reports, “you guys were wonderful. I loved my therapy...I looked forward to it every day. Thank you."

Ms. Barbara Davis chose Christian Care of Unicoi County following a recent hospitalization resulting in a decline in function and an increase in burden of care. Upon admission, she required extensive assistance with generalized mobility, walking, and with activities of daily living, impacting her ability to return home.
Ms. Davis was the perfect therapy patient. She made maximum effort daily, participating in Physical and Occupational Therapy with the drive to return home. By the end of her stay she was able to return home requiring set-up to full independence. She reports, “...the therapy girls were great. The staff were wonderful, and I made many new friends. I can now go back home and be independent again.”

Upon admission, she required extensive assistance with increased difficulty in generalized mobility, walking, and requiring increased assistance with activities of daily living, impacting her ability to return home.
Ms. Stone was the ideal therapy patient - working hard daily, participating in Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy with the determination to return home. She was able to complete her task in just 16 days with the ability to return home independently to set-up. She reports, “therapy was wonderful. They are sweethearts and they did good. I looked forward to it every day.”

Ms. Glenna Crain chose Christian Care of Unicoi County following a recent hospitalization that resulted in a decline in function. Upon admission, she required extensive assistance with activities of daily living and generalized mobility associated with activities of daily living, impacting her ability to return home. She immediately started her individualized programs with Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy.
Ms. Crain worked diligently daily with therapy services in efforts to return home. She reported, “I love all the people in therapy and thank God for their care for me. May God bless you all.”

Upon admission, he was having difficulty with the generalized mobility, walking, and requiring increased assistance with activities of daily living, impacting his ability to return home.
Mr. Bowen was the ideal therapy patient - working hard daily, participating in Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy with the determination to return home. He states, “taking therapy has made me able to continue doing what I was at home. I am now steadier on my feet walking better at home and around the community. Thank you for all you do.”
